Founder & CEO, Prepped and Polished Tutoring and Test Preparation
On a mission to help elementary, secondary, college-level, and adult students improve their grades and test scores, in 1999 Avila founded his South Natick-based company Prepped and Polished Tutoring and Test Preparation, an independent educational services company. Avila and his team have traveled extensively to educate students and work with families across the globe.
Known for finding joy and humor in whatever he does, Avila has helped students and adults gain confidence, maximize academic potential, and achieve dramatically improved grades and test scores through his company and 300+ educational videos. Frequently quoted by U.S. News & World Report, Avila regularly speaks about tutoring and test preparation at schools and conferences across the US. Avila is a certified school guidance counselor with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
